Bring a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID (like a driver's license or passport) and the documents you need notarized. Ensure the document is completed except for the signature(s). Please note the ID needs to have your picture, signature, and a brief description of your appearance, i.e. brown eyes, brown hair, etc.
Depending on the county that you are in, your license may have an expiration date.
The following counties have stated that their marriage license do not expire:
Richland, Sumter, Lexington.
The following counties have stated that their marriage license do expire after a certain time period.
Kershaw: The marriage license will expire one year from the date of application. Once that time period has expired, you will need to re-apply.
