Whether you’re saying “I do” in an intimate elopement, renewing your vows in a backyard garden, or signing your marriage license over coffee—I'm here to help you create a meaningful moment that reflects your love.

At Beyond The Ink Notary, I offer flexible wedding officiant services designed to fit your style, schedule, and budget. From simple signings to heartfelt traditional weddings, each ceremony is handled with care, professionalism, and a personal touch.

Before We Say “I Do”

To keep your day stress-free and everything running smoothly, here’s everything you need to know before your ceremony.

Important Information

  • Marriage License: Couples must have a valid marriage license at the time of the appointment for both parties.

  • Identification: Both parties must present unexpired, government-issued photo IDs (driver’s license, passport, etc.).

  • Witnesses: South Carolina does not require witnesses, but you may have one if you wish.

  • Holiday Surcharge: A $25 surcharge applies for all major holidays and Valentine’s Day.

  • Travel Fees: Additional travel fees apply for locations over 10 miles from zip codes 29229 or 29045.

  • Evening Ceremonies: Ceremonies scheduled after 6 PM may incur an additional fee.

  • Payment Policy: Payment is due at the time of reservation to secure your date.

  • Marriage License Return: All packages include a complimentary return of your marriage license to Richland County. All other counties will be charged a fee to return the license. 

  • Add-On Services: Enhancements such as vow booklets, unity ceremonies, and photo props are available to personalize your day.

  • Short Notice Requests: Same day or next day requests will have an additional fee of $50.

Policies

Ceremony Start Time

Please ensure guests arrive on time, and your ceremony begins at the scheduled time. I often have multiple weddings in a day, and starting promptly ensures every couple receives the attention they deserve.

Official Recording

Your marriage license will be returned for official recording once your balance and any late fees are fully paid.

Rescheduling

If your ceremony is delayed by more than 15 minutes and I am unable wait beyond the scheduled start time due to my next appointment, rescheduling may be required. Your deposit can be applied to a new available date (if applicable).

Late Fees

I understand that wedding days can get hectic! If I am able to wait beyond the scheduled start time, the following late fees will apply: 

  • 15+ minutes late: $50

  • 30 minutes late: $75

  • 45 minutes late: $125

  • 60 minutes late: $150

Certified Copies

Couples are responsible for ordering certified copies of their marriage certificate from the Probate Court that issued the license.

Photography Permissions

By using any photographer during your ceremony, you agree that Beyond The Ink Notary may share photos from your wedding day on social media or business listings (Google, Yelp, etc.) for promotional purposes. If you prefer to keep your photos private, please provide your request in writing before your ceremony.

Getting Married in South Carolina –

What You Need to Know

  • No Residency Requirement: You don’t have to live in South Carolina to get married here! 

  • Marriage License Location: You can obtain your marriage license from any Probate Court in South Carolina.

  • 24-Hour Waiting Period: Once you apply, there is a mandatory 24-hour waiting period before your license is issued. (You can’t get married the same day you apply—you’ll need to pick up your license the next day.)

  • Marriage Anywhere in SC: Your license is valid for any location within South Carolina.

  • No Blood Tests: Blood tests are not required.

  • No Witnesses: Witnesses are not required in South Carolina, but you’re welcome to have one if you’d like.

  • Rings Optional: Exchanging rings is a beautiful tradition, but it’s not required by law.
